THRISSUR: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed to investigate the death of actor Kalabhavan Mani, headed by Chalakkudy DySP K Sudarsan, recorded the statement of actor Sabu, who had anchored several television shows like ‘Tharikida.’
Around 70 witnesses have been questioned till now, in connection with the death of the actor. Sabu’s statements were recorded at Chalakkudy Police Station around 11.30 am.
The police had directed the actor to appear after several online portals linked his name in connection with the death of Mani.
Sabu, who had been at the outhouse ‘Padi’ along with Jaffer Idukki, told mediapersons that Mani did not drink in his presence and that he would take legal action against the news circulating against him.
Meanwhile, Mani’s brother Ramakrishnan’s said that he suspects foul play in the events leading to the death of his brother. “How come there was methanol in Mani’s body only? We had met with his friends who were always ready with alcohol and created ruckus several times as we were aware of his liver disorders,” he said.
