Mismatch in Statements

KURUPPAMPADY/ALUVA: Mismatch in the statements of persons interrogated in connection with the Jisha murder case is the primary reason behind the delay in solving the case. An officer said that statements of around 200 persons were recorded until Friday. Considering the mismatch in the revelations of those who were questioned, the police the other day called some of them to the Kuruppampady police station to re-interrogate them. “In this case, there has been substantial mismatch in the statements given by several of the witnesses. Some of them commit errors while giving statement as they forget the details, while some give false statement fearing the police. But, such mismatches will be rectified by re-recording the statements,” said a police officer.
