KPCC furious over Satheeshan's 'age-fixation' comment

KPCC Vice-President V D Satheeshan’s comments about fixing a retirement age for holding posts in Congress party has kicked up a controversy within the party.

KOLLAM: KPCC Vice-President V D Satheeshan’s comments about fixing a retirement age for holding posts in Congress party has kicked up a controversy within the party. On Wednesday, another KPPC office-bearer - General Secretary Sooranad Rajasekharan - strongly opposed Satheeshan’s views and termed his actions a case of ‘serious indiscipline.’

“I watched his statements on a news channel the other day. This is a case of serious indiscipline. If he has any opinion on a particular subject, he should raise it on the party’s platform. Such acts will only drag the party through unwanted controversies,” Rajasekharan said in a press meet at Kollam Press Club.
He also questioned Satheesan’s qualifications for making such a statement.

“I doubt his qualifications to say something like this. “Satheeshan gives scant regard to the party’s decision that a leader should hold only one post at a time, as he is an MLA, KPCC vice president and holds several other posts in Congress,” said Rajasekharan. Mocking Satheeshan, he added, “If he is that concerned about giving representation to youth in the party, why doesn’t he follow the footsteps of T N Prathapan, who decided not to contest in Assembly polls for giving youths an opportunity.”
