Maoist posters vowing to avenge death of party members found in Nilambur

The posters were purportedly pasted in connection to the ongoing martyrs' week observance by Maoists.

MALAPPURAM: Posters allegedly put up by Maoists were found pasted on walls of an anganwadi in Vazhikkadavu police station limits in Nilambur. They were spotted by local residents at Punchakkolli tribal colony by around 8.30 pm on Monday.

The posters were purportedly pasted in connection to the ongoing martyrs' week observance by Maoists. Maoists are holding the observance from July 28 to August 3 in memory of party members Kuppu Devraj and Ajitha, who were shot dead by the police last year inside the Nilambur forest near Punchakkolli tribal colony.

The poster read, ""Kuppu Devraj and Ajitha were shot violating all human rights. They were shown to the police by some betrayers. The killers will be punished and we won't pardon the the betrayers."
