Kerala chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan visits Congress leader AK Antony, enquires about health

Vijayan, accompanied by CPI-M state Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, enquired about the health of Antony, a former chief minister and defence minister.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan today called on senior Congress leader A K Antony, who is recuperating after an illness, at his residence in New Delhi.

Vijayan, accompanied by CPI-M state Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, enquired about the health of Antony, a former chief minister and defence minister, an official release here said.

On the occasion, Antony donated Rs 50,000 to the Kerala Ockhi Cyclone Relief Fund. He handed over a cheque to this amount to the Chief Minister, the release said.

Vijayan explained to Antony the various relief steps taken by the state government for the victims of Ockhi cyclone.

 Antony told him that the Congress would provide all support to the rehabilitation work taken up by the government, the release added.

76-year old Antony underwent treatment after he suffered a "minor" brain haemorrhage on November 29.
