Dileep remanded in two days’ police custody 

Actor Dileep, who was arrested for his alleged role in the conspiracy in the actor assault case, was remanded in police custody for two days by the Angamaly Judicial First Class Magistrate Court.

KOCHI: Actor Dileep, who was arrested for his alleged role in the conspiracy in the actor assault case, was remanded in police custody for two days by the Angamaly Judicial First Class Magistrate Court on Wednesday.The police had sought three days’ custody of the actor as his presence was required for evidence collection, but the court granted only two days. Dileep was produced in the chamber of the magistrate around 10.30 am amid tight security.

First, the court considered the plea submitted by the police seeking custody of the accused. Senior lawyer Ramkumar appeared for Dileep. The court will decide on the actor’s bail plea once the police custody is over. He was taken to the Aluva Police Club and from there to Thodupuzha by 2.30 pm.

The prosecution submitted a detailed interrogation is required and the accused has to be taken to Hotel Abad Plaza, Thrissur Tennis Club and Thodupuzha Santhigiri College, where the actor allegedly conspired with the prime accused Pulsar Suni aka Sunil Kumar.

During the hearing of the bail plea, Dileep refuted the charges and submitted he had stayed at Hotel Abad in the city for a programme organised by the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), where several film stars were present. This was not disclosed in the first chargesheet, but was added to rope him in. As the actor was brought to court from Aluva Sub-jail, the crowd on the court premises booed and made catcalls.
