Pulsar Suni cooked up phone dumping story: Kerala Cops

KOCHI: It has become evident that Pulsar Suni, the main accused in the case related to the sexual abuse of a Malayalam actor, was trying to mislead investigation officers by telling them he had thrown a mobile phone into the backwaters from the Goshree bridge.

An extensive search conducted by the probe team in the backwaters had failed to yield any result. Suni is alleged to have captured objectionable videos of the actor on the mobile phone.

In his latest confession statement, Suni told the police he had thrown a coconut covered in towel into the backwaters, not the mobile phone.

Five Navy divers had also taken part in the search operation that lasted for around seven hours on February 27. “The Navy offered the service of divers free of cost, based on a request made by the police,” said a Navy spokesperson.The police had taken Suni to various places in an attempt to recover the phone.

Earlier, the police recovered from the residence of Suni’s advocate a bag containing four SIM cards, memory card, card reader and dress worn by the accused while committing the crime. The bag was handed over to the advocate by Suni before surrendering before the court.

It was found three SIM cards were used by Suni, and that the accused had made the last call from the premises of the advocate’s office.
