THRISSUR: District Collector A Kowsigan imposed CrPC Section 144 on areas under three police station limits of the district on Monday, a day after an RSS worker was hacked to death near Guruvayur. The order, which prohibits unlawful assembly (more than four persons), has been imposed on Guruvayur, Guruvayur temple and Pavaratty station areas.

Police have issued a lookout notice and intensified the search for the accused in the murder of Anand, the RSS worker, said commissioner Rahul R Nair. Police officers said they had a clear idea regarding the identities of Anand’s attackers on Sunday itself. They said the car abandoned by the attackers on the site belongs to the brother of Fazil, the CPM activist who was killed four years ago. Anand was one of the accused in the case and had recently got bail. The police have also recovered a mobile phone from the car used by the assailants and are searching for the bike the attackers used to flee. Though three people were seen attacking Anand, police suspect the involvement of more persons.
