THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran said  Devaswom Board president Prayar Gopalakrishnan had  insulted  women and Ayyappa devotees through his alleged derogatory remarks. Presently, there is no ban on females aged below 10 and above 50 years from entering the Lord Ayyappa temple at Sabarimala. He asked Prayar what he actually meant when he said no woman will tread Sabarimala even if the court permitted the same.

“Whatever be the verdict, the government will  welcome it. The Devaswom Board is also bound to accept the verdict,” he said. Kadakampally said Prayar should withdraw the statement unbecoming off his stature and tender an unqualified apology.
