KANNUR: Justifying the police action against Mahija, mother of Jishnu Pranoy, who was dragged on the road and removed by the police for attempting to stage a protest in front of the Police Headquarters, CPM Kannur district secretary P Jayarajan said some outsiders tried to exploit the situation forcing the police to intervene.
If some external elements tried to instigate the family members, it needs to be probed, he said. Mahija herself had stated some others had come in support of their agitation.
Though the police had given permission only to six persons to meet the DGP, there were more number of people who tried to enter the Police Headquarters, he said.
Jayarajan alleged the right wing media groups had a hidden agenda to blame the LDF Government. Though the CPM had on many occasions disagreed with the police action, the capability of police cannot be underestimated, he said.
The police had caught the real culprits in the Fazal murder case in which the CBI had submitted the charge sheet, he said.
