BJP worker hacked to death in Kerala

The BJP, while calling for a hartal in Thrissur today, alleged a political conspiracy behind the murder of 18-year-old Nirmal, and held CPM responsible for it.

THRISSUR: An 18-year-old BJP worker was stabbed to death on Sunday night in a clash that occurred during the festival in Kokkulangara temple in Mukkattukara near here. 

The BJP alleged political conspiracy behind the murder and held CPM responsible for it. The saffron brigade has also called for a hartal today (Monday) in Thrissur district.

“The deceased has been identified as Nirmal (18), son of Balan, Poradan House, Cheradam. The incident happened Sunday night at 11.15 PM. Nirmal had succumbed to death in Jubilee hospital in Thrissur around midnight. Another person, one Midhun, was injured in the clash,” said Krishnakumar, sub-inspector of Mannuthi Police Station.

Police have registered a case against six CPM workers--Sidhu, Sachin, Arun, Sandeep, Jesudas and brother of Sidhu.
