CPM leader warns CPI against supporting Right-wing politics

The Kannur strongman said attempts to portray a college strike as an anti-government agitation and give it a Left image is a mere political decoy.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In another development in the ongoing CPM-CPI spat, senior CPM leader E P Jayarajan has once again come out against the CPI warning it not to serve Right-wing politics while being in the Left front. The comments on Facebook came in the backdrop of the Law Academy's anti-government strike.

The Kannur strongman said attempts to portray a college strike as an anti-government agitation and give it a Left image is a mere political decoy.

Allegations and outcries by those jealous of the wide support enjoyed by both the SFI and the DYFI has vitiated Kerala society, Jayarajan said while warning CPI not to indulge in such activities while enjoying the Left base. Joint movements with anti-LDF activists and communal-fascist forces should be wound up.

"When such acts and their opportunist moves are exposed, putting the blame on SFI and DYFI is not politically correct," Jayarajan said.

Taking a dig at CPI, EP Jayarajan said such actions to draw political attention should not cross the limits. Arming the enemy to weaken the government is condemnable and such moves to support the Right-wing forces are nothing but digging one's own grave.

"I would like to remind you that if they don't back out from such moves - which help only the communal and fascist forces- they will face the pitiable scenario of losing the few people around," warned Jayarajan.
