Kerala: Raging fever continues to claim lives

Fever continues to rage in the state with reports of 243 fever deaths in the past one and a half months.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Fever continues to rage in the state with reports of 243 fever deaths in the past one and a half months.  Nine deaths were reported from across the state on Tuesday. Of the five dengue deaths, two were reported from Thiruvananthapuram and one each from Alappuzha, Thrissur and Malappuram.

The Directorate of Health Services also reported one fever death from Malappuram, one leptospirosis and H1N1 death each from Palakkad and Pathanamthitta respectively. According to the report, 26,744 viral fever cases were reported on Tuesday. It also reported 686 suspected and 243 confirmed dengue cases. Apart from this, the state also saw 19 leptospiroses and three H1N1 cases on Tuesday.
