KCRM extends support to agitating nurses

The Kerala Catholic Church Reformation Movement extended its support to the striking nurses who have been demanding salary revision.

KOCHI: The Kerala Catholic Church Reformation Movement (KCRM) on Wednesday extended its support to the striking nurses who have been on a warpath for the past few weeks in the state demanding salary revision. KCRM office-bearers told reporters there should not be any delay in solving the crisis and urged the hospital managements and the government to give justice to the nurses.

Condemning the malpractices by hospital managements, KCRM functionaries said the managements did not discriminate between patients and nurses when it came to exploiting them. Even hospitals under the Catholic Church charged excessive education fee without providing necessary facilities to nurses or appointing them to key positions in hospitals, thereby depriving them of their due posts and benefits.
