THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have intensified the security cover for Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan after the death threat by Madhya Pradesh based RSS leader. Four armed commandos have been included in his security team, bringing the total to ten.

The decision was taken by the State security review committee meeting held in the capital. The committee said that the death threat was to be viewed seriously despite RSS sangh prachar pramukh Kundan Chandravat retracting the remarks and the organisation expelling him.

The committee had earlier recommended intensifying the security cover for the CM which was rejected by the CM himself. But the latest recommendation in the wake of the death threats was accepted by the Chief Minister.

The Police Intelligence Wing had also recommended for increasing the personal security for the chief minister.

Following the committee's recommendation, BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan has also been given police security. Two policemen have been deployed for his personal security.
