KOCHI: Former minister Thomas Chandy on Friday lodged a complaint before the Acting Chief Justice of Kerala High Court against Justice Devan Ramachandran, who was part of the Division Bench which dismissed a petition filed by him in the land grab case. The Division Bench had dismissed a petition by Thomas Chandy against the report of the Alappuzha District Collector and had made adverse remarks against him.

In the complaint, Chandy said Justice Devan Ramachandran was domineering and had been overruling the senior judge on the bench, which was against the norms, practices and customs prevailing in the court. When the case was taken up, the judge was attempting to thrust his view upon the senior advocate appearing for Chandy.

“The very same person, who had appeared as a lawyer against us in the High Court, was sitting as the judge. The action of the judge in deciding my case was in a fully biased manner,” Chandy alleged. He said the action of the judge was on account of the animosity in the earlier litigation between him and Mathoor Devaswom, for whom he (Devan Ramachandran) appeared as a lawyer.Thomas Chandy also requested the Acting Chief Justice to place two other petitions in the land grab case pending on the bench before other judges.
