Travancore Devaswom Board president hints at ‘devaprasnam’ at Sabarimala

He said the incidents connected with the ‘arattu’ procession and the falling of the ‘thidambu’ from the temple elephant and injuring people should be brought before the ‘devaprasnam.’

SABARIMALA: Travancore Devaswom Board president A Padmakumar has said the TDB is planning to hold a ‘devaprasnam’ into the unfortunate incidents connected with the ‘arattu’ ceremony on Friday.

The TDB president told Express the incidents connected with the ‘arattu’ procession and the falling of the ‘thidambu’ from the temple elephant and injuries caused to 11 devotees, including the priest carrying the ‘thidambu,’ should be brought before the ‘devaprasnam.’ As an ongoing practice, the unfortunate incidents connected with the annual festival and temple practices should be brought before the team of astrologers and the view of the Lord should be sought, he said.
