KANNUR: A complaint has been lodged against the addition of a Kannur trader’s photograph to a Facebook post which allegedly instigated communal hatred through social media.
The District Wheel Alignment Owners’ Association told reporters on Tuesday that Manoj of MRM Tyres and Alloy Wheels is receiving plenty of threatening calls as his WhatsApp profile photo was edited and added to a Facebook post by a man named Anand Manmadhan.
The post was in connection with the rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir.
The post was later tagged to another person by the name of K V Anand Krishnan.
With so many threatening calls coming in, Manoj’s family members are a distressed and disturbed lot, said the office-bearers of the association. A case has been registered after Manoj lodged a complaint with the police regarding the issue.
