Former KSU Idukki president Niyas Koorapilli dies

Former KSU Idukki district president Niyas Koorapilli, 28, who had suffered severe injuries in an accident, died on Sunday.

IDUKKI: Former KSU Idukki district president Niyas Koorapilli, 28, who had suffered severe injuries in an accident, died on Sunday. Niyas had been undergoing treatment after a car rammed into his bike at Madakkathanam near Thodupuzha on Saturday at 5 in the evening.

He was rushed to Kolenchery Medical College and later taken to Medical Trust Hospital, Kochi. However, he died on Sunday by 2.30 am at Kochi. His mortal remains were brought to Thodupuzha Rajiv Bhavan for the public to pay their last respects. The funeral was held at the Karikkod Nainar Jumha Masjid in Thodupuzha at 5 pm.
