THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It appears the LDF Ministers have become better at answering questions in the Assembly. In fact, few can beat ministers Mathew T Thomas, A C Moideen, T P Ramakrishnan, V S Sunil Kumar, Ramachandran Kadannapally and P Thilothaman. The six ministers answered all the questions posed to them during the question hour in the 10th session of the Assembly which ended on Wednesday.

PWD Minister G Sudhakaran answered all but one question, Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan said in his winding-up speech. He praised the ministers for their diligence before adjourning the House sine die.
In May last year, Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala had complained to the Speaker the ministers were not providing replies to queries by MLAs.

They had provided answers for just 19 of the total 333 unstarred questions raised during the question hour on a specific day. The Speaker had then ruled all the ministers were to supply the answers promptly.
The 10th session saw 690 starred and 6,815 unstarred questions, and 623 supplementary questions plus 21 adjournment motion notices. In the session, 13 days were set aside for discussion on demands for grants, six on legislative business and two days for private members’ bills.
