LDF's second-anniversary celebrations to be inaugurated on May 18

The state-level concluding ceremony of the second-anniversary celebrations of the Pinarayi Vijayan-led LDF government will be held at Nishagandhi auditorium in Thiruvananthapuram on May 31.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state-level concluding ceremony of the second-anniversary celebrations of the Pinarayi Vijayan-led LDF government will be held at Nishagandhi auditorium in Thiruvananthapuram on May 31.The Minister for Tourism, Devaswom and Cooperation Kadakampally Surendran announced the date after a high-level discussion with higher officials here on Monday. The inauguration of the celebrations will kick off in Kannur on May 18. The district-level celebration will also be held on the same day. In Thiruvananthapuram, the celebrations will be held at Kazhakoottam. 

As part of the celebrations, a mega exhibition-cum-sale of products under the aegis of various government departments will be held from May 24 to May 31. Kudumbashree, Women’s Development Corporation, Khadi, Coir Kerala, Matsyafed, the Forest, Industries, Excise, Health and Civil Supplies Departments, KSEB, Anert and others will put up stalls.

A special food festival featuring the state’s delicacies and cultural programmes will be added attractions. Mayor V K Prasanth, Chief Secretary Paul Antony, Information and Public Relations Department secretary P Venugopal, Industries secretary Sanjay Kaul and heads of various departments participated in the discussion.
