THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kollam First Additional Sessions court on Thursday found a youth guilty of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl and sentenced him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment.
As per the prosecution, Rajesh Kumar of Idamulakkal village had been sexually abusing the girl from his neighbourhood for the past five years. Whenever she resisted, he threatened to kill the girl and her parents.
Meanwhile, her class teacher noticed she was in distress and showed signs of mental stress. The school officials talked to the girl and found she had been sexually abused.
The issue was conveyed to the PTA who informed the matter to the police.
