THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Seeking to put the ruling LDF and the Opposition UDF in the dock over the Sabarimala gold theft case, the BJP will conduct ‘Sabarimala Samraskshana Jyothi’ (Sabarimala protection lamp) protest in over 10,000 houses and other locations across the state on ‘Makara Sankranti’ day on Wednesday.

According to the state BJP leadership, many prominent personalities will be part of the ‘Veettlium Naattilum Ayyappa Jyothi’ campaign demanding a CBI probe into the gold theft episode. “The gold theft case is the latest example of a CPM-Congress nexus in the state,” BJP state general secretary S Suresh said.

The ‘jyothi’ will also be lit at BJP offices, public places and temples. In the run up to the campaign, the BJP had brought out posters with photographs of key accused in the case Unnikrishnan Potti with CM Pinarayi Vijayan and Sonia Gandhi. “The party demands a CBI probe into the gold theft case to ensure that all accused are brought to book,” Suresh added.
