While engaging these personalities, the government has apparently carry out a background check before handing over appointment letters. During the checks, the person’s social media accounts, posts, likes, and dislikes are verified. The government has inducted into its coastal police force over 250 Agniveers, who earlier served in the Navy, CM Devendra Fadnavis said on Friday. “We’ve decided to recruit the Agniveers into the police force after their military service, and the first batch of Navy personnel has been inducted into the coastal security wing,” he said.

Bomb blasts threat mail triggers security alert

Security agencies and the Mumbai police have been placed on high alert after an email sent to Mayor Ritu Tawde on Friday threatened bomb blasts at her office, actor Amitabh Bachchan’s home and the venue of singer Diljit Dosanjh’s concert. After a search of the mayor’s office at the BMC headquarters, nothing suspicious was found. The mail warned of a grenade attack on a school on October 31 and threatened to target Bachchan’s Juhu home ‘Jalsa’ between October 31 and November 27. The email made references to ‘Khalistan’. Law enforcement authorities have launched a probe to verify the authenticity of the message.
