KORAPUT:  Tension prevailed in several parts of Koraput district with the activities of Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangha (CMAS) spreading to Semliguda block after Bandhugaon and Narayanpatna. The Sangh members chased away 24 Scheduled Caste families from Upar Kanti village in Semliguda block yesterday.  Sources said Narayanpatna unit of CMAS followers were threatening the vil¬lagers since one month asking them to leave the village of which about 14 families left out of fear and reached Semliguda block office for assistance, while the information about 10 others is not known. Families consist of 33 persons including 11 children.  The BDO of Semliguda immediately rehabilitated the families in Doliamba School facilitating GR cards to them.  On the other hand, Bandhugaon CMAS secretary Arjuna Kendruka has demanded the State Government to rescue the 11 missing persons of Alamanda, Bankidi and Hatigad villages. They went missing after a group clash between two sanghs of Narayanpatna and Bandhugaon on September 6.  Bandhugaon CMAS leader, Kondagiri Paidama, have demanded the government to pay a compensation to the kin of the deceased P.Suresh who died in clash as the administration failed to control the law and order situation in their locality.
