BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday launched the e-janani programme to benefit the mothers and children.
Addressing a function organised to mark the Safe Motherhood Day, the Chief Minister said that for better implementation of the e-janani programme tracking of mother and children will be done.
The study on the role of male members of the family will also be commissioned, he said.
Reiterating the State Government’s commitment to further bring down the maternal mortality rate (MMR) and the infant mortality rate (IMR), the Chief Minister said steps would continue in this regard.
The Chief Minister felicitated the best doctors, asha karmis and female health workers on the occasion.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Prasanna Kumar Acharya and senior officials attended.
