BERHAMPUR: Maoists under Basadhara divisional committee have urged upon people of the State not to extend any support to their Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh counterparts.

Nikhil, the spokesperson of the Basadhara divisional committee in a release, has said Maoists of the two states have always undermined Odia cadres. Nikhil added that though Maoism ideology speaks about fighting for the cause of the downtrodden, AP and Chhattisgarh Maoists have deviated from it. “They often humiliate Odia cadres and sexually exploit women Odia cadres in the outfit,” the release in Odia read.

The Maoist leader alleged that Maoists of the two states had even killed an Odia cadre Rabi in Kerubadi forest under Kandhamal two months back for raising voice against the ‘ill-treatment’ towards Odia cadres.

The release which reached various media houses on Friday night, further stated that AP and Chhattisgarh cadres harass people of rural belts in Odisha, prefer ‘better’ variety of rice and give the coarse variety to Odia cadres. “They even force Odia cadres to wear their used clothes and shoes,” Nikhil wrote.

This has brought to fore the differences between the factions of the CPI(Maoist) outfit.
