The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has tightened the screw on the OMFED and OPOLFED booths across the city in view of the upcoming Local Self Governance Day.

In a meeting attended by Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena and Commissioner Sanjib Mishra, it was decided that the OMFED and OPOLFED booths will be directed to keep their premises clean prior to and during the Local Self Governance Day.

All the booths have been asked to keep dustbins and paint the booths as needed. “The major thrust is that they should look clean and beautiful,” said Misra.

The design aspect of the 21 bus bays being constructed by the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) was also discussed during the meeting.

It was decided that a facelift should be given and the design of the bus bays should be modernised.

All the concerned parties have been instructed to finalise the construction and renovation prior to August 30.
