Woman Maoist surrenders

A woman Maoist cadre of Kalimela- Poplur Dalam of CPI (Maoist) outfit, Parbati Majhi, surrendered before SP Akhileswar Singh on Wednesday. In fact, Majhi had given up arms over a year ago and was staying at her native village Bodenga under Kapatuti gram panchayat here. “However, apprehending threat to her life from rebels, she considered it safe to surrender before the police,” the SP said. Parbati was involved in a series of crimes like the killing of Anand Pattnaik, a Special Operations Group (SOG) commando in Sudhakonda village under Kalimela police limits three years back, attack on ESSAR company at Chitrakonda, Tekguda firing incident and some minor incidents across the district.
