A second year student of Utkal Law College, Bismaya Das, was assaulted by unidentified miscreants late Monday night.
The attack is reported as a fall-out of campus violence during the NSUI elections last month. Around 15 miscreants beat up Das inside his hostel room and a complaint in this regard was filed by the victim at Saheed Nagar police station. Police said a search is on for the accused.
In another case, a case was registered by members of NSUI at Saheed Nagar police station alleging damage to NSUI posters that were put up inside the University campus.
