City police on Wednesday brought Dipti Ranjan Patnaik, accused in Bachansudha Patnaik murder case, on a five-day remand.

Dipti, who was security guard at Patnaik’s house, is likely to be subjected to psychoanalysis on Thursday. Since several aspects of the murder including involvement of more persons are yet to be unveiled, the police want to get to the bottom of the case. Besides, the diamond locket of Bachansudha is yet to be traced.

On September 11, Dipti had allegedly murdered the 55-year-old wife of businessman Manu Charan Patnaik in their Sabar Sahi home in Rasulgarh.

Dipti was nabbed in Nayagarh two days later. He confessed to have committed the crime. A local court had granted his remand to the City police on Tuesday.
