IT return last date extended to August 5

The income tax assesses can file their income tax on Saturday and Sunday as well. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), New Delhi has extended the last date for filing the returns from July 31 to August 5. The due date has been extended in wake of “unprecedented surge” in number of IT returns being filed electronically.

As per the CBDT, there has been an unprecedented surge in number of returns being e-filed.Special arrangements have been made by the office of Chief Commissioner of Income Tax to facilitate the tax payers to file their returns in all the Income Tax offices and Aayakar Seva Kendras of the State including Saturday and Sunday. The information was issued by State Income Tax deputy commissioner AC Rout on Thursday.
