A case was registered against Assistant Commissioner of Police, Banambar Sethi on Friday for manhandling Havildar Premananda Nayak during the constable recruitment test a day earlier.
Nayak, a Havildar with the Commissionerate Police’s Special Security Batallion, had prevented his senior who was helping a candidate during the physical test on Thursday.
He was allegedly assaulted by Sethi, an ACP with Traffic Training Institute in the City.
While the issue hit the headlines, Nayak lodged a complaint with Sahid Nagar Police Station on Friday and a case has been registered.
A departmental inquiry too was initiated in the matter.
