Rairakhol Tehsil office remained locked for the fourth day in a row on Monday with the members of Rairakhol Bar Association refusing to budge from their stand.

The lawyers had locked the office on Friday demanding transfer of Tehsildar Sushanta Singh. Although Sub-Collector Kabindra Sahu tried to convince the lawyers to open the office, the latter did not pay any heed.

The lawyers alleged that the Tehsildar has been sitting over petty cases like issue of caste certificate, residential certificate, income certificate which is of utmost importance to the students seeking admission. They said they had petitioned to the Collector over the matter on April 15 and reminded about the issue during his visit to the sub-division on July 21.

They said they had issued an ultimatum on the matter. But with no action coming forth, they were bound to lock the office, they said.

President of the Bar Association Abhay Kumar Bir said they would not allow the office to open till their demand is fulfilled.
