Madhu pension scheme for 2.7 lakh people

The State Government on Wednesday announced to extend the benefit of Madhu Babu pension scheme to additional 2.7 lakh beneficiaries.

Making this announcement, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said about 20 lakh old-age, differentially abled, widow and destitute people are covered under the State- sponsored social security scheme.

“In order to provide social security to more needy people in rural areas, the State Government has decided to provide additional 2.7 lakh pensions,” the Chief Minister said.

There will be a special drive to cover widows and differentially abled persons on priority basis. Pension will be given to new beneficiaries from October.
