At least 15 passengers were injured after a Puri-bound bus overturned near Balikuda on National Highway-5 between Cuttack and Bhubaneswar on Thursday.

The bus driver was trying to avoid collision with a calf which had run onto middle of the highway. The vehicle swerved to one side and the driver lost control over the vehicle. Luckily, the bus overturned on a heap of sand which absorbed the impact and prevented any serious damage to the vehicle and the passengers.

The injured were later taken to SCB Medical College, Cuttack.
