A community organiser(CO) of Jatni Municipality was arrested while she was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 for recommending a loan application of a self- help group on Friday.
The accused, Kabitarani Das, had sought the illegal gratification from Kabita Mallick, cashier of Maa Jagosari SSG of Kudiari, to recommend loan amounting to Rs 3 lakh towards mushroom cultivation under the Sahari Rojgar Yojna, SP of Bhubaneswar Division of Vigilance S Kaushal said.
Once the anti-corruption wing was tipped off, it laid a trap and Das was caught by a Vigilance team in her residence at Balichakasahi in Jatni while taking bribe.
Das was immediately arrested. A case has been registered in this connection.
