7 bol bam devotees injured in mishap

Seven bol bam devotees including two women were severely injured when the pick-up van in which they were travelling collided head-on with a passenger bus near Panposh bridge under Brahmani Tarang police limits here on Monday morning.

Sources said the van was carrying 17 passengers back to the Rourkela railway station when the mishap took place.

Apart from the seven, rest of the devotees were discharged after preliminary treatment. Those undergoing treatment belong to Chapa and Kharsia areas in adjacent Chhattisgarh besides, Brajrajagar in Jharsuguda district.

One Dies in Accident

Jajpur: A bol bam devotee Artatrana Pradhan (32) died when a speeding truck ran over him near Gunthi junction on the NH-5(A) under Badchana police limits in Jajpur on Monday. He was carrying holy water to a Shiva temple.

Three others were along with Pradhan were also injured in the mishap. The deceased was a native of Sanabandala village under Badachana police limits. Those injured have been shifted to SCB Medical in a critical condition.
