A teacher of a public school was on Monday arrested on charges of molesting a 13-year-old student at Tikhiri village under Marsaghai police limits here.
The accused Ashok Pradhan (48) has admitted to the crime, said Inspector of Marshagai police station, Sandhyarani Beuria. He was produced in a local court which remanded him in judicial custody.
The incident, according to the FIR, occurred on August 7 when the victim had been to Pradhan’s house for tuition. On returning home, the victim informed her parents about being molested by him. Cases under section-354 of IPC and section-10 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 were registered against the teacher.
