8 Bills to be tabled

The State Government will table eight Bills in the Assembly for discussion during the monsoon session beginning on Tuesday.

The State Government will table eight Bills in the Assembly for discussion during the monsoon session beginning on Tuesday. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kalpataru Das said the Odisha Government Land Settlement Bill, which is in the consideration stage, will be taken up for discussion and passed during the session.

The Odisha Self-Help Cooperative Regulation Act, which was repealed through an ordinance, will be replaced with a Bill, he said.

 Other Bills which the State Government will place in the House include the Odisha Cooperative Societies Bill, 2013, Industrial Dispute Odisha (Amendment) Bill, 2012, Odisha Advocate Welfare (Amendment) Bill, 2013, Odisha Public Demand Recovery (Amendment) Bill, 2013, Registration Odisha (Amendment) Bill, 2013, Biju Patnaik University (Amendment) Bill, 2013 and Odisha Panipanchayat (Amendment) Bill, 2013.

 Das told mediapersons after the meeting of the BJD Legislature Party (BJDLP) that the party would  discuss the provisions of the Food Security Bill in the House.

Stating that BJD wants several amendments to the Bill, the Minister said allocation of rice by the Centre will decrease if the Bill provisions are implemented in its present form.
