The rape and murder of an 8-year-old girl in a city slum on Tuesday rocked the Assembly on Wednesday with the Opposition demanding an apology from Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Speaker Pradip Kumar Amat had to adjourn the Assembly twice as the House witnessed pandemonium over the issue. BJP MLAs staged a dharna in the Well, while members of the Congress shouted slogans and attempted to climb the speaker’s podium.
