Tension ran high at Lambodharpur village here after Bhaliabolekateni gram panchayat sarpanch Subhadra Biswal’s husband Duryodhan Biswal was allegedly kidnapped and brutally murdered on Thursday.
Subhadra has joined BJD recently. An FIR has been lodged.
Sadar police said Duryodhan alias Kumar’s body and his motorcycle were found in an abandoned well at the village. His body bore multiple injury marks.
Locals said Kumar had political rivalry after the last panchayati raj election which saw his wife emerging as the new sarpanch.
Sadar police station IIC Manas Ranjan Gadnayak said an investigation is on and the accused will be nabbed soon.
