The Medical Council of India (MCI) has accorded permanent recognition to Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), a constituent of KIIT University. The Ministry granted the recognition acting on the recommendations by the council to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in February.KIMS has been offering MBBS since 2007. A medical college becomes eligible for permanent recognition after completion of five years as per MCI guidelines. A notification to this effect was issued on Friday.
