Three hurt as bank guard's gun goes off

Three customers sustained injuries when the double-barrel gun of Abhiram Mallick, a security guard at Kirimira branch of State Bank of India, went off accidentally. The injured persons were admitted to Jharsuguda headquarters hospital.

According to branch manager of the bank, Subhash Tripathy, the security guard was on duty on Friday afternoon when he accidentally pressed the trigger of his gun which was loaded.

The cartridge went through a door causing a hole and its pieces deflected towards the legs of three customers - Biranchi Das, Padmo Munda and Manohar Oram.
