Attitude change needed for women’s security: CM

Stating that steps have been initiated to increase security measures for women, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said existing systems are being changed wherever necessary to meet this end.

Addressing a function organised here by Women and Child Development Department on Friday to mark the Women’s Day, the Chief minister said attitude of the society is a major problem against women’s security. There should be a sustained fight against this chauvinistic attitude at all levels of the society, he added.

The Chief Minister, however, said the attitude of society will change in the coming days and women will be able to protect their dignity in all spheres. Stating that women are born leaders, Naveen said they have proved this by running families, panchayats, countries and big corporate houses efficiently.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister felicitated noted novelist Prativa Ray, sports women Pramila Kirsani, Sukanti Raul and Rosanara Parveen.
