Mystery shrouds death of three persons whose bodies bearing injury marks were seized at Gengutia village on Dhenkanal-Kamakshyanagar road on Thursday. According to Sadar police, bodies of three persons were found inside a Mahindra Max van.

Police suspect that they died in road accident, the locals demanded an inquiry into the matter. The deceased were identified as Pradeep Samal of Thokkar village in Hindol, Prasad Gadnayak of Khuntani Mahalaxmipur and Kuna Behera of Tigiria in Athagarh.

DFO Harmohan Maharatha said the van carrying timber collided with a truck. Details about the incident will be known after investigation is over, he added.
