Dhenkanal rape victim’s brother beaten up

 Four days after the gangrape and murder of a 16-year-old girl of Mathtentulia village under Gondia police limits, her brother Kasia Nayak was on Saturday evening beaten up by a miscreant.

 Four days after the gangrape and murder of a 16-year-old girl of Mathtentulia village under Gondia police limits, her brother Kasia Nayak was on Saturday evening beaten up by a miscreant.

The miscreant also abused Kasia’s family members. Villagers caught hold of the miscreant and handed him over to the police.

During investigation, police found that the miscreant was a mentally imbalanced hair vendor from Kolkata. He used to purchase hair from local women and supply those to vendors in Kolkata. Police said the miscreant, whose identity could not be ascertained till now, was mentally unstable and was roaming in the village for the last few days.

Meanwhile, Gondia police have arrested Shivaji Naik’s father,  Dandadhar Naik for allegedly abusing the victim’s family members. Besides Shivaji, police had arrested one Sarat Naik for their involvement in the case.
