Employees of Sambalpur University under the banner of Sambalpur University Employees’ Union (SUEU) staged a demonstration in front of the administrative building of the university on Friday over their long pending demand and passed a resolution in their general body meeting to resort to cease-work from April 17.

The employees led by their general secretary Mahendra Kumar Mishra also submitted a memorandum addressed to Vice-Chancellor Prof BC Barik about resolution. In the memorandum, the employees stated apathy of the State Government and the university authorities towards the staff shortage, inadequate infrastructure, lack of maintenance, inadequate service benefits and job insecurity which have been reflecting on their day to day work.
