As many as 1,040 unemployed youths were selected in the ‘Niyukti Mela’ held at ITI ground in the city on Tuesday.
Organised by State Niyukti Mission and Ganjam administration, the Mela was inaugurated by Gopalpur MLA Pradeep Panigrahy. Around 3,500 youths including girls from various parts of the district turned up at the Mela where officials of 21 companies interviewed them. While the selected youths were given appointment letters in the evening, the companies also selected 634 youths for training. After completion of training, they would be given employment, said the organisers.
