State Election Commissioner (SEC) Ajit Kumar Tripathy on Saturday said action will be initiated against Hindol MLA Anjali Behera if the enquiry confirms the allegation of violation of code of conduct by her. She had allegedly distributed benefits of social welfare schemes days after SEC announced code of conduct for Hindol NAC election.
Speaking to media persons at Sadbhavana hall in presence of Collector Bishnu Prasad Panda and SP Manoranjan Mohanty, the SEC said inquiry is on progress into the allegation. When he asked Hindol Sub-collector Atulya Kumar Champatirai about the incident, the latter admitted the fact and said this was done in absence of Hindol BDO.
